Amazing sunset captured at the Blue Ridge Parkway Cowee Mountain Overlook, August 2021.
I went hunting sunset on this evening, with Cowee as my primary destination. I made a few stops along the way, to capture images of Looking Glass Rock during golden hour. Once I rounded the southern bend of the Parkway, I stopped at each west-facing overlook, to see if there was a worthy sunset view that evening. None had what I was seeking, so I continued on toward Cowee. Upon pulling into the Cowee overlook, this is pretty much what I saw. I jumped from the car, grabbed my camera and tripod, and setup in record time to capture this image. Sometimes you just get lucky!
